By accessing or using curbkarma ("the Service"), operated by curbkarma ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
curbkarma is a home improvement documentation platform that allows homeowners to track projects, upload photos and receipts, generate shareable reports, and receive inquiries from professionals such as realtors, lenders, and insurance agents.
To use the Service, you must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service, including photos, receipts, project descriptions, and home information ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
When you create a shared report, the included project data and photos are made accessible to anyone with the report link (and passcode, if set). You are solely responsible for what you choose to share.
The Service offers optional AI-powered receipt and invoice parsing. When you use this feature, your uploaded document is sent to a third-party AI provider (Cerebras) for text extraction. Extracted data is returned to you with confidence scores and is not stored by the AI provider beyond the duration of the request. AI extraction is not guaranteed to be accurate and you are responsible for reviewing and correcting extracted data.
Shared reports are accessible via a unique link. You may optionally protect reports with a numeric passcode. Reports with passcodes are locked after 3 failed attempts.
Professionals viewing your shared report may submit inquiries including their name, email, role, and a message. These inquiries are stored and forwarded to you via email. You are under no obligation to respond.
To protect the Service and its users, we enforce rate limits on certain actions, including sign-in attempts, AI parsing requests (20 per day), and inquiry submissions (5 per hour per report). Exceeding these limits may result in temporary access restrictions.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your authentication data, shared reports, messages, photos, and timeline entries are permanently deleted. Home and project records are anonymized (names, titles, addresses, contractor details, notes, and photo references removed) and may be retained for aggregate analytics. This process is irreversible. Deletion will fail and be aborted if any purge step cannot complete, ensuring no partial state.
We strive to maintain the availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from service interruptions.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damage to property.
curbkarma is a documentation tool. It does not provide appraisals, inspections, legal opinions, or financial advice. Shared reports are not a substitute for professional home inspections or property valuations.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless curbkarma, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of law principles.
